Food is one area where this mentality is extremely important. You can eat much more healthily (and get much better tasting food) if you stop shopping at the super market and start buying your food at farmer’s markets. The big key with food is about “local” instead of “organic.” I don’t really have the space in this article to really get very specific as to why, but it’s suffice to say that the “organic” food market has been taken over by large corporations who have done anything and everything they can to make the term have less meaning so they can cut corners and make bigger profits.
Forget about brands. Whether it’s food or jewelry or almost anything else, brand names are not something to give respect to. It is important to realize that big name brands are not high quality because of their big name, all that actually means is that they’ve spent a lot of cash on TV commercials. Branding has almost nothing to do with the quality of the product itself and almost everything to do with ads.
